Nick Fury cameo revealed in 'Thor' : SPOILER

"Thor" debuted in Sydney, Australia on Saturday earlier and the first major spoiler is now available for some eager fans. Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, appeared at the end of "Iron Man" and "Incredible Hulk" to set up the details for the formation of "The Avengers."

"Thor" opens May 6, 2011 while "The Avengers" is set to begin production for the 2012 release. Fans are impatiently waiting to see how the Nick Fury appearance will help shape the upcoming chapter in this Marvel Universe on the big screen.
 
So the post-credit scene was held secret until this weekend:
 
"Nick Fury arrives to New Mexico and talks to Professor Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) about the Tesseract (cosmic cube). And it's revealed that he's (Selvig) actually Loki."

So a couple of details to add:
 
Tom Hiddleston (Loki) stated that he was not playing Loki in "The Avengers", but that left the door open to another actor portraying the God of Mischief. Now, as the actor tours to promote "Thor", he confirmed he's under contract for several more films. (Read here)
 
The cosmic cube is tied to the "Captain America: First Avenger" as well, with the Red Skull seeking its amazing powers.
 
Just a reminder that Hawkeye will also make a brief appearance in "Thor". (Read here)
