Nick Cannon's freakish conversion to a white man

Meet Connor Smallnut, Nick Cannon's new alter ego. Cannon, host of 'America's Got Talent' and Mariah Carey's other half, posted his new look to his Instagram page today and immediately set the internet abuzz. In the picture, Cannon is seen donning a red wig, flannel shirt, and most notably white face makeup.

"It's official...I'm White!!!" said the caption. Cannon then followed up with several more pictures of Connor in action, along with a video taken outside of the Staples Center. Some have found his stunt to be humorous; others are crying foul, saying that if black face is not ok, then neither is this. You might remember the backlash that was unleashed upon Julianne Hough, who wore black face last year as part of her Halloween costume as Crazy Eyes from Netflix's 'Orange is the New Black.'

Shrugging off the criticism, Cannon later tweeted a picture of Morton Downey, Jr. in black face for the 2008 film 'Tropic Thunder' along with the caption, "Shout out to @RobertDowneyJr This is one of my favorite characters of all time! Hilarious!!! There is a big difference between Humor and Hatred."

Cannon, 33, posted the controversial pic to promote his upcoming new album, 'White People Party Music.'
