This past Friday, August 23rd, Nick Cannon helped prepare talented students for future success, by transforming from TV host to back-to-school enthusiast partnered with the Office Depot Foundation and donated 4,000 colorful new sackpacks containing essential school supplies to kids served by nonprofit organizations, schools and agencies in the New York area. This is Nick's second year in a row that he has helped with the Foundation, he has been a apart of the Back-to-School celebrations in Los Angeles, San Diego, Fort Lauderdale, Charlotte and New York.
The Foundation – the independent charitable giving arm of Office Depot – made the donations during a special Back-to-School Celebration beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Office Depot store in Manhattan.
Nick and the Office Depot Foundation helped served six local nonprofit organizations, schools and agencies in the New York area, which included the NYC Department of Education, Bronx Charter School for Better Learning, Dream Charter School, Grand Concourse Academy, Lighthouse Outreach Ministries, and Twelve Baskets Community. Nick even stayed to take pictures and sign autographs – overall, a really great event with so many deserving (and really excited!) kids.
