Nicholas K opens #MercedesBenzFashionWeek with 50 shades of gray

Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014

began in the usual way.

With everyone eager to see and be seen

it kicked off with NICHOLAS K.

Despite being 9 in the morning - oh, yes! -

and most disagreeable weather,

With streets that were, putting it mildly, a mess,

the woolens, knits and leather

In appropriately wintry shades like "storm",

"indigo", "midnight" and "heather"

Made the Pavilion hospitable, toasty and warm,

banishing cold to regions of nether.

Assymetry ruled in a marvelous way,

enveloping, wrapping and draping.

A great way to start off the very first day -

with a wake up of cloaking and cape-ing.

Assymetrical too, was Jon Reyman's hair:

a blackest black, blunt cut bob

(They actually were wigs - no real hair there -

with "It's a Wig" doing the job.)

Aveda did hair, Avon's artists did makeup

(Lauren Andersen being the head).

(How can we all look that way when we wakeup,

and not look "just rolled out of bed"?)

Bondi did nails and Honeywell did shoes

with all else by NICHOLAS K.

Per usual, a collection worth making the news;

for those following, paving the way.
