On June 8, 2014, Nevada contestant Nia Sanchez, 24, was deemed Miss USA at the Baton Rouge River Center in Louisiana.

In retrospect, it was the 63rd annual Miss USA competition, and later this year, Sanchez will represent the United States in the upcoming Miss Universe competition.

The illustrious competition was hosted by Giuliana Rancic, Thomas Roberts, and Jeannie Mai. During the program, 50 contestants were judged in three demanding categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview.

The judging panel included Rumer Willis, Karl Malone, and Lance Bass. The competition also included musical acts by Nelly, Latin pop band Camila, and the country music duo Florida Georgia Line.

Donald Trump, owner of the Miss Universe Organization, was seen walking the red carpet prior to the competition.

Sanchez is from Rocklin, California and currently resides in Las Vegas. Sanchez holds a fourth-degree black belt in the Korean martial art of taekwondo.

During the competition Sanchez said women need to take it upon themselves to learn how to defend themselves.

Miss USA 2013 Erin Brady crowned her successor at the end of the program. Some would say that Sanchez was by far the most beautiful out of all contestants.

Sanchez stated on Facebook that she is "unbelievably grateful" to be at Miss USA and is loving every moment.
