Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel), Robert Hight (Funny Car) and Erica Enders-Stevens (Pro Stock) continue to top the NHRA points standings following this weekend’s O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways in Kent, Washington, near Seattle. Andrew Hines leads in Pro Stock Motorcycle, which did not compete this weekend.

Seattle winner Kalitta (1,345) leads second-place Antron Brown (1,269) by 76 points. Shawn Langdon (1,146) sits third in points, followed by Tony Schumacher (999), who clinched a spot in the Countdown to the Championship. Steve Torrence (920) rounds out the Top Fuel top five.

Hight (1,271) leads team owner and Seattle winner John Force (1,224) in Funny Car, followed by Ron Capps (989), Courtney Force (980) and Tommy Johnson Jr. (975). Hight and John Force are the only two Funny Car drivers who have locked up spots in the Countdown to the Championship.

Enders-Steven (1,229) continues to lead the Pro Stock standings in spite of skipping the last two races. She’s ahead of Allen Johnson (1,197) and Seattle winner Jason Line (1,192). Jeg Coughlin Jr. (1,128) sits fourth in points, followed by Dave Connolly (1,075) in fifth. Sixth-place Shane Gray and seventh-place Vincent Nobile are the latest drivers to wrap up Countdown spots, joining Enders-Stevens, Johnson, Line, Coughlin Jr. and Connolly.

Hines (853) leads his Screamin’ Eagle Harley teammate Eddie Krawiec (862) by 91 points. Hector Arana Jr. (614) sits third, followed by his father, Hector Arana (542) in fourth and John Hall (516) in fifth. Hines, Krawiec, Arana Jr. and Arana have locked in spots in the Countdown.

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series gets a week off before returning to the track Thursday through Sunday, August 14th through 17th at Brainerd International Raceway, home of the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals. Keep up with the action at www.nhra.com.
