Hey everybody! The NHL is coming back. They took off a few days for Christmas, and Boxing Day, I suppose, but they get back in action on Friday. Then, it is time for another weekend of NHL action. Oddly, there are more games on Sunday than Saturday this week. There are eight on Saturday and 10 on Sunday. In short order, we will be at the halfway point of the NHL season. Some teams will play their 40th games of the year this weekend. Here's some of the most interesting matchups to me coming up.
There are a few good games on Saturday. Boston is playing Ottawa, which is interesting even though the Senators have struggled a bit. The talent is still there. Montreal is taking on Tampa Bay. The Lightning are going strong even without Steven Stamkos. It's a good matchup. The best game, however, is Chicago against St. Louis. They are simply two of the best teams in the league. It's a classic matchup and one worth seeking out. The only other notable game to me is Phoenix against Anaheim, and that's only because the Ducks have been outstanding thus far.
Sunday is... not great. There are more games, but less interesting ones. The Blues are facing the Stars, which is pretty good. The Rangers, led by the legendary Cam Talbot, face the Lightning. Lastly, the Ducks take on the Sharks. Now that's a good game. Most every other game features at least one not good team.
Well, at least the NHL is back. This is a late Christmas gift to all of us. Hockey is back! Enjoy the games.
