Outside of Penn Station, it's hard to ignore the blaring radio with Mariah Carey coming out of it as two volunteers dance around a red donation bucket, in hopes that the Holiday spirit is so contagious that you toss them some of your loose change.
It's that time of year and teams around the National Hockey League are asking for your help to make someone else's holiday a little brighter.
Many NHL clubs will be collecting unwrapped toys through the month of December as part of the mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Since the Toys for Tots program began in 1947, Marine Corps Reserve Units have collected over 400 million toys which have been distributed to more than 189 million children.
Before heading out the door this month, check to see when your favorite team will be collecting donations. As a thank you for your generosity, some hockey clubs will even give a gift back in return.
