NHL lockout ended: What the players are saying, NHL 13 to whet your appetite

EA Sports released its annual installment in the "NHL" series this past fall, but it was done so with an incredible cloud of uncertainty surrounding the sport itself.

According to a report from the NHL today, the NHL and NHLPA have apparently agreed upon a new CBA framework that can ultimately extend for another 10 years.

Either side has the option to opt out of the deal after eight years have been completed.

Fans everywhere can now rejoice and get ready for an exciting, yet abbreviated NHL season with "NHL 13."

For those who are looking to embrace the shortened season by playing out one of their own, "NHL 13" has the option to change the amount of games in a given season.

This year is looking to be between 48 and 52 games long, so whichever setting is closest would fit just fine.

NHL fans are not the only ones who are excited about the end of the lockout, as players have been tweeting and talking about how they feel about the strike's end.

NHL forward Shane Doan said the union got the best deal possible and he is excited to get back to playing hockey again.

"You knew you were in that position, and I think as a union we got the best deal we could possibly get, and you're happy.

"You're just excited to play hockey again and do what you really enjoy and have a passion for," Doan said.

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby said, "I am really happy that a deal was reached and we're all excited to get back to playing hockey."

Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Duchene said, "Hey Denver, I have one question for you... Can you say 'Avs hockey'???"

Avs captain Gabriel Landeskog said, "People say it's like Christmas morning waking up today? I'd say this is a lot better. Couldn't be more excited!!"

More talk is sure to follow this story as is what will ensue for this upcoming season, but for those who are looking to get a small preview with some "NHL 13" action, you should check out our review here.
