NHL and NFL all-star games on tap for Sunday sports TV

(Tampa Bay, FL) Steve Stamkos will represent the Tampa Bay Lightning in Sunday afternoon’s NHL All-Star game in Ottawa. The game will be telecast on NBC Sports Network beginning at 4:00 p.m. with Mike “Doc” Emrick calling the play-by-play and former player Eddie Olczyk doing the color.

Don’t look for any defense to be played. An NHL All-Star showcase, just like the NBA All-Star game, is an offensive show only. Look for a 10-9 score in this one. (It doesn’t really matter who wins does it?)

The NFL Pro-Bowl is also on tap Sunday in this in-between week before the Super Bowl. Why this game is still played is a mystery. No player wants to actually be in the game and risk injury. Why not just honor the best players in the league with a big party and forego the game which is virtually unwatchable save for the real degenerate gamblers who put money on the contest.

For those who can’t go two weeks without any football, the Pro Bowl kicks off at 7:00 p.m. tonight on NBC (WFLA) with Dan Hicks doing the play-by-play and Mike Mayock and Doug Flutie handling the color.
