The Hooters Golf Tour is back in Kentucky at Cherry Blossom Golf Club in Georgetown, Ky. for the 4th straight year. With all the wet weather Kentucky has had it seems that the rough is going to make the course quite a test for the young professionals this year as well.
There are festivities going on all week at the course in Georgetown. The first two days brought the Monday qualifier for those needing to qualify to get in the tournament and Hooter's local restaurant scramble, followed on Tuesday by practice rounds, a shootout for the players, and a Junior Clinic for the local youngsters that was completely free. Wednesday brings the Pro-Am tournament all day long and the tournament gets into full swing starting early Thursday morning and goes through Sunday. It is absolutely free to attend the tournament.
Some notable Hooter's Tour alum consist of: Lee Janzen, John Daly, Tom Lehman, Jim Furyk, David Toms, Stewart Cink, Zach Johnson, Camilo Villegas, Bubba Watson, Boo Weekley, and local Kentuckians Steve Flesch and Josh Teater.
Louisville area golfer's participating are: Ryan Britt, Brandon Brown, Karsten Clements, Jesse Massie, Jesse Mudd, Jerry Price, Matt Savage, and Jared Wolfe.
