It’s only the second week of the 2010 season, and the 49ers already have a high-profile game. More on that in a minute, but first…

The Raiders make their home debut against the Rams, and its no surprise that it’s blacked out on TV. But because the 49ers are on Monday night, KPIX channel 5 and KTVU channel 2 have decided to switch timeslots so each can air their network’s national game.

CBS has the doubleheader this week but KPIX can only air one game, another by-product of the Raiders non-sellout. They could have stuck with the 10 a.m. matchup fed to most of the country, Dolphins at Vikings. Then KTVU would have been forced to air the only other Fox-produced game opposite the Rams-Raiders at 1 p.m., the Seahawks at the Broncos. That actually wouldn’t have been a bad scenario for the Bay Area.

Instead both stations have negotiated to bring us their most high-profile contests. KTVU will air the Bears at the Cowboys at 10 a.m. And KPIX follows that up with the Patriots at the Jets at 1:15. This gives us the rare opportunity to hear both networks’ primary announcers, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, and Jim Nantz and Phil Simms respectively. You decide if that’s a good thing.

Meanwhile the Raiders are on radio, KFRC 1550 AM, Live 105 FM, and Sirius.

Sunday night’s matchup has the Manning Bros. facing off as the football Giants visiting the Colts at 5:20 p.m. on KNTV channel 11.

Now for our main attraction: the 49ers make their home premiere in the MNF national spotlight against the Super Bowl-champion Saints. Whaddat?

Yep, fresh off a spanking by the Seahawks, the 49ers will have to find a way to win against Drew Brees and company in front of the whole country. The 5:30 p.m. contest is of course on ESPN and also available locally on KBCW channel 44. KPIX decided against pre-empting CBS Monday night, and shoved the game over to its sister station.

While you’re driving home from work, you can listen in on KNBR 1050 AM, 107.7 FM The Bone, or Sirius. Hopefully you’ll like what you hear enough to want to turn your TV on when you get home.
