NFL teams fire seven head coaches in postseason firing blitz

The NFL regular season came to an end on Sunday, leaving several team coaches and general managers out in the cold. Do to poor team performance, seven NFL coaches and five general mangers, were abruptly fired, after the regular season ended.

The team owners did not waste anytime in making their position clear. The overall performance of an NFL team, is the responsibility of the coaching staff.

Dec. 31, Coach Andy Reid of the Philadelphia Eagles is out, after 13 years with the Eagles. The Eagles players, plagued with injuries, including, starting quarterback, Michael Vick who missed six consecutive games, do to a concussion. The Eagle finished the at 4-12.

Lovie Smith, of the Chicago Bears was told to hit-the-bricks after six years as head coach. Smith lead the Bears to one Super Bowl appearance, in 2007.

San Diego AP cited, "Ken Whisenhunt is out after helping Arizona reach the Super Bowl following the 2008 season. Also gone: Norv Turner in San Diego, Pat Shurmur in Cleveland, Romeo Crennel in Kansas City and Chan Gailey in Buffalo."
