Too often the personal lives of professional athletes land in the news for negative incidents. However, it is refreshing to see class acts like NFL star J.J. Watt that represent pro sports in a positive light.
Like many public figures, Watt has a following of young fans that have a crush on him. In an article dated, Thursday, Jan. 31, PEOPLE reports that when the Houston Texans defensive end watched a YouTube video of 6-year-old Breanna crying, he was touched. He was particularly moved because in it, she emphasizes that she wishes she could be 25 so she could marry Watt.
The Texan decided that he had to do something about this heart-broken little girl.
"Does anyone happen to know this cute little girl? We have to find her and turn those tears into a smile," the 23-year-old professional athlete Tweeted Monday.
Two days later, Watt made good of his word. Not only did he follow through what he said, but he went above and beyond to make the 6-year-old smile.
He met his young fan, and then proceeded to propose to her as his pretend wife for a day. Breanna of course accepted.
"Thanks to your help, we found 6-year-old Breanna and she said yes to being my pretend wife for the day," he Tweeted with a series of photos of their meeting.
You can bet that Breanna felt like the luckiest girl alive, and that she will never forget the day that her famous crush proposed to her. If and when he gets married for real, let’s hope that it doesn’t cause meltdown #2. Likely Watt's good-hearted gesture made a surplus of women closer to his age want to marry him even more than before.
