The NFL schedules for the upcoming 2014-15 season were officially released late last night and already fans are ready for football. According to an Arrowhead pride report on April 23, along with schedules being released, Las Vegas sports books have released the point spreads for Week 1.
The NFL has done it once again, scheduling some monster must see games right off the bat. Week 1 will officially get underway when Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers take on the their NFC rivals and newly crowned Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football. The Pacific Northwest will be rocking when the Seahawks take the field for the first time as Super Bowl champs. Talk about a Week 1 game feeling like a playoff atmosphere!
Other big Week 1 games include San Francisco at Dallas, Indianapolis at Denver and New Orleans at Atlanta. Once again the NFL will have their opening week Monday Night Football double header, something fans would like to see a lot more of.
The first Monday Night game will feature two teams that have big expectations for 2014 when the New York Giants take on the Detroit Lions from Ford Field in Detroit. With a new coach and the recent addition of WR Golden Tate, it is playoffs or bust in Motown. The second MNF game will feature the Chargers taking on the Cardinals from Arizona.
One change this year in the NFL that fans will love is the flex schedule. According to NFL.com on April 23, the flex schedule will start during Week 5 this year instead of waiting until Week 10 or 11. The NFL reported that the league can now flex up to two games total into Sunday night between Weeks 5-10. Basically all that means is the fans will see the bigger games of the weekend, which is always a good thing.
