Week 14 of the NFL schedule 2013 gets underway with an AFC South clash between the Texans and Jaguars, for which predictions, NFL picks and odds are available courtesy of Dec. 5 SBN report. Opening kickoff is scheduled for 8:35 p.m. EST from EverBank Field.

The (2-10) Houston Texans come in losers of 10 straight games, yet somehow favored to win this Thursday Night NFL contest. Moments before kickoff, NFL oddsmakers list the visiting team at -3 in the ATS department and value them at -175 in (straight up) betting lines.

In turn, the (3-9) Jacksonville Jaguars, winners of consecutive decisions for the first time this season, are getting no love from Las Vegas oddsmakers. Currently, the Jags [+3] are considered betting dogs by a field goal in this matchup and their money line equals +155 tonight.

Who NFL picks and predictions experts project will cover in this battle of sub-500 intradivisional rivals in primetime?

According to the latest ATS consensus, the majority of the betting population appears to be on the fence about this NFL Week 14 opener. Nevertheless, 53 percent of the public seems to agree that the Texans are more likely to cover than Jaguars’ ATS proponents, which total 47 percent.

Having that said, no such controversy exists when it pertains to tonight's OVER/UNDER of 43½ points. Betting activity for the point-total indicates that an overwhelming 70 percent favor these teams eclipsing that mark, compared to just 30 percent who believe otherwise.

NFL Schedule Week 14 Predictions: There's no question that taking the Houston Texans ATS is the smart move. They're not only superior in seemingly every major statistical category, but stylistically and in the betting world, they also matchup well against Jacksonville.
