The Week 13 finale of the NFL schedule 2013 features the Saints and Seahawks in a potential NFC Championship Game preview for which MNF odds, predictions and free NFL picks are now available. According to a Dec. 2, 2013 SBN report, while all indications are that the Seahawks will cover tonight, there are some interesting ATS trends.
For example: Did you know that over the past 14 NFL seasons, the (10-1) Seattle Seahawks are a whopping 2-11-1 against the spread following a bye week? That is exactly the scenario that Seahawks fans will face when the (9-2) New Orleans Saints come to town looking for revenge this evening.
CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Wash., will be the site for this week's Monday Night Football. Opening kickoff is scheduled for 8:40 p.m. EST (7:40 p.m. CST/6:40 p.m. MST/5:40 p.m. PST) and it will be broadcast live on ESPN.
According to NFL oddsmakers, the hosting Hawks come into this Week 13 game favored by two field goals over a very dangerous NOLA team with upset on their minds and the talent on the field to get it done.
Las Vegas' MNF odds have the Seahawks as -6-point favorites against the New Orleans Saints [+6], the OVER/UNDER is set at a combined total of 48 points and alternate (straight-up) betting lines go as follows: New Orleans [+225] vs. Seattle [-265].
For Sean Payton, Drew Brees and the 2013 New Orleans Saints, the NFC South leaders come in with a 6-5-0 against-the-spread record and some encouraging ATS trends to consider.
Unlike the Seahawks, "The Bayou Boys" are a perfect 6-0 ATS in their last six games following a bye week. New Orleans is also 5-0 in its last five Monday Night Football games, 4-0 in as many contests after allowing less then 15 points the previous week, and 4-1 following an ATS loss.
For Pete Carroll and the NFC's top seed, the Seahawks comes into this MNF Week 13 battle with an impressive 7-4 ATS mark. However, trends suggest this team is vulnerable, not only coming off an extra week of rest, but in other scenarios as well.
According to recent ATS history, Seattle is just 1-5-1 following the past seven bye weeks, 7-17-1 after scoring more than 30 points in its previous game, and an eye-popping 10-25-1 in its last 36 contests following a straight-up win of more than 14 points.
The last time these teams met was during the NFC Wild Card on Jan. 11, 2011, in this same venue (formerly known as Qwest Field). On the strength of their defense and a man-size effort from Marshawn Lynch, the Seahawks stunned the heavily favored Saints by a final score of 41-36.
