The NFL schedule 2013 live stream and TV games for week 1 come to a conclusion with the return of Monday Night Football. The first edition of the MNF for the new season will be a feature Philadelphia Eagles visiting the Washington Redskins in the early game. The matchup will be the first of two televised and live streaming NFL games on Monday night, thanks to ESPN presenting a doubleheader.
According to a Sept. 9 report from ESPN.com, tonight's game marks the return of Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III. "RG3" will reportedly start the game after watching from the sidelines during the preseason. The star QB was still recovering from the torn ACL and LCL he suffered in the 2012-13 playoffs against the Seahawks. In his rookie season, he racked up impressive numbers of 3,200 yards passing on 258-for-393 attempts, with 20 touchdowns scored. Just like his opponent tonight, RG3 is a dual-threat on the field, who had 815 rushing yards last season including 7 additional touchdowns scored for the team.
Now that he's back, he'll look to continue his path towards superstar status in the NFL, building upon the successful rookie campaign. However, Griffin III will have to get more help from his front line, as he ranked third in getting "sacked or hit" right behind two other young stars: Cam Newton and Andrew Luck.
There will also be a debut for new Eagles' coach Chip Kelly tonight. Kelly formerly coached the NCAA's Oregon Ducks and had a style involving a "fast-paced offense," which certainly could help the Eagles. The team finished at 4-12 for a disappointing end to their 2012-13 season. That record had them tied with the Lions for worst record in the 2012-13 season in the NFC.
Kelly will go with Michael Vick as his starting QB, after Vick won the job during the preseason. During his 2012-13 campaign, Vick appeared in 10 games and compiled 2,362 total passing yards, 331 rushing yards, and a total of 13 TD's (between his passes and a rushing TD). His completion percent was 58% on 204-for-351 passes made. Many would call it a down season for both Vick and the Eagles, so they'll be looking for a fresh start tonight.
Current odds on tonight's game favor the Redskins by 3 1/2 points and an over/under of 52 combined points. According to VegasInsider.com, the Redskins swept the Eagles last season, although Vick never faced them during the games played. Tonight's weather reports have Maryland temperatures up to 80 degrees during the day, with a low of the mid 60's expected tonight under partly cloudy skies. The game will take place at Fed Ex Field and will have multiple sources for watching or listening to the matchup.
