The NFL schedule 2013 live stream and televised games kick off the latest week on Thursday, Sept. 26, as two NFC foes will go head-to-head. The San Francisco 49ers will try to get back on track with their 2014 Super Bowl aspirations as they visit the St. Louis Rams. The latest game will be televised and live streaming online thanks to the NFL Network and NFL website.
According to ESPN.com on Sept. 26 in their game preview, the 49ers are looking to avoid dropping their third straight game when they meet up with the Rams in St. Louis tonight. San Francisco looked great in their season-opening victory, 34-28 over the Green Bay Packers, but have struggled since, losing to the Seahawks and then just last week at home, to the Colts. Coach Jim Harbaugh still believes his team can bounce back, as he recently told the media:
"We're not going to hang our heads. Football is not easy, there are struggles.
We've got some adversity, no question about it. We also have the rare opportunity to stare adversity in the face and whip it. That's our goal."
One of the issues the team will face will be the fact they're without star linebacker Aldon Smith. Smith led the league in sacks last year, but is now planning to enter rehab for substance abuse, and was placed on the "reserve non-football injury" list this past Monday. In addition to Smith's absence, they could also be without Patrick Willis due to a groin injury and Nnamdi Asomugha with a leg injury. Tight end Vernon Davis missed last weekend's game due to a hamstring injury and could be out again tonight.
Both teams enter this matchup at 1-2, with Rams QB Sam Bradford currently sporting better overall stats than Colin Kaepernick. Bradford has thrown for 891 yards and six touchdowns on 88-for-141 completed passes in just three games. Jared Cook has been one of his top receivers with 195 yards and 2 TD's accumulated so far on 13 catches.
Meanwhile, Kaepernick has struggled since the opening win, and currently has 689 yards with 3 touchdowns on 53-of-94 completions. Frank Gore is leading the team in rushing with 142 yards on 41 carries, while Anquan Boldin has racked up 282 yards and a touchdown on 19 receptions. Kaepernick will look to get back that momentum he and the team showed last season en route to a new Super Bowl championship win against the Ravens.
For tonight's game, the 49ers are listed as 3 1/2 point favorites with the over/under set at about 42 1/2 points for the combined score from the two sides. In 2012, these teams had a classic overtime game which ended in a 24-24 tie. They would meet again on Dec. 2 of the season with the Rams taking the win 16-13 in overtime. Will tonight's game go to an extra session, or become a bounce back win for the defending NFC champion 49ers?
