It may be NFL playoff time, but with seven coaches getting axed by their teams this week, the interest in who lands where has NFL fans curiously interested. One of the biggest names to get let go was Andy Reid, but the former Eagles coach may be landing with a new bird very soon.
According to ESPN, Andy Reid has emerged as the leading candidate to become the Arizona Cardinals' next head coach and could be named to the job by the end of the week.
"Arizona is fast tracking Reid so it can move as quickly as possible. One league source said he was "95 percent" certain Reid will wind up coaching the Cardinals."
From an Eagle to a Cardinal, if these rumors are correct Arizona will be getting one of the best coaches in the business.
If this move does happen, it will be interesting to see the staff Reid surrounds himself with. Rumor has it that Reid has already contacted several NFL coordinators and is putting a staff together quickly.
Reid was hired as the head coach by the Philadelphia Eagles back in 1999. His career regular season record is 130-93-1, and was 10-9 in the postseason.
