NFL rumors 2013: Source says Darrelle Revis is 'gone'; 49ers, Falcons interested

The NFL never really has an off-season, and neither do the NFL rumors. The rumor mill is starting to crank up when it comes to New York Jets DB Darrelle Revis. Revis has been one of the best in the game over the past few years, but if reports are true the Jets are willing to deal the All-Pro if the price is right.

According to a Mar. 6 report form the New York Daily News, Revis is all but "gone" when the new NFL calander year begins on March 12, 2013.

The Daily reports "Two or three 'legitimate buyers' are prepared to make a trade for Revis when free agency and the trading period begins on March 12, and the 49ers and Falcons are rumored to be first in line with offers.

So could Revis be suiting up for a new team in 2014? Well one source says it's a sure thing.

“He’s gone,” a source familiar with the situation said Tuesday. “This is happening. They’re moving him. They can’t keep him. They’re rebuilding. They’re starting fresh.”

Of course we never know who the "source" is when it comes to these rumors, but the way the Jets played last season, they need to get rid of half of the team to start fresh.

Revis is one of the best in the game, but it will be interesting to see what teams are willing to give up since he is coming off an ACL injury.
