Tonight's NFL preseason 2013 live stream and televised matchup brings Monday Night Football, albeit for the preseason. However, it's a high profile matchup featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins. These are two potential teams that could find their way into the 2013-14 postseason, and they'll be looking to test out some of their key personnel tonight. The latest game featuring the Steelers vs. Redskins live stream and TV matchup will be available for viewing thanks to ESPN.
An Aug. 19 report via ESPN's NFC East Blog reports the Redskins will have several players on watch during this Monday Night Football game. It may only be the preseason, but with star quarterback Robert Griffin III still recovering from his knee injury, backup quarterback Kirk Cousins will be tested against a tougher defense tonight. Last week, Cousins helped guide the Skins to a 22-21 victory over the Titans, but they are far from the same class when it comes to D in the NFL.
Other players who will be evaluated in this game by Washington will include several running backs: Chris Thompson, Roy Helu and Evan Royster. All three will be trying to show they have what it takes to be a part of an effective offense in the coming season. Thompson will reportedly be returning kickoffs on Monday night for Washington, while Helu and Royster will be used as backup running backs. All three should get some decent time during the game though.
For Pittsburgh, they are apparently only going to use starters for about a quarter of this game. That means Ben Roethlisberger and his core receivers should be seen for at least a portion of tonight's game, giving Steelers fan a look at how they perform. These guys will be resting up for their upcoming season, which officially starts on Sunday, Sep. 8 at home against the Tennessee Titans. Washington's season will start with a Monday Night Football game at home against the Philadelphia Eagles. So quite possibly, tonight's game could be an early preview of two teams starting the season at 1-0.
Tonight's Steelers vs. Redskins game has a start time of 8 p.m. EST at Fed Ex Field in Baltimore, MD.
