The NFL preseason schedule Week 3 edition kicks-off tonight when the New England Patriots will attempt to stay perfect on the exhibition season when they travel to Detroit to face the Lions at Ford Field.
According to SB Nation report on Aug 22, New England will look to move to 3-0 in August, and while the Patriots have seemingly looked in mid-season form at times this preseason, the Lions have looked sub-par, especially on offense.
Back in Week 1, the Lions beat the Jets 26-17 but it was Week 2 that had many Lions fans shaking their heads as they were dominated by the Cleveland Browns from start to finish.
It may just be the preseason, but the Lions need to step things up a bit. After making the playoffs in the 2011 season, Detroit took three steps backwards in 2012 finishing the regular season 4-12, and you have to believe that if Detroit starts slow this year changes may be on the horizon.
Yes, this game tonight may be meaningless in terms of wins and losses, but it would be nice to see Detroit’s offense move the ball effectively. So far through two games the Lions look very out of sync, but hopefully that will change tonight as the starters should be in for a good amount of playing time for both squads.
