Week 1 of the 2014 NFL preseason will kick-off in less than 48 hours and already NFL fans are geared up for the season! The annual barrage of questions has already begun. Can the Seahawks repeat? Can Peyton Manning repeat his historical season of 2013 and win the Super Bowl? Are the Pack back? Is this a make or break year for Harbaugh and the 49ers? The list of questions is endless.

According to WISH-TV on August 4 the Colts and Jets will officially get Week 1 underway this Thursday night, August 7 in New York. If the Jets hope to compete this season and climb into the top of the weekly power ranking, getting off to a good start is a must.

The Jets, along with other teams like Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Miami and the Raiders all believe they can contend for a playoff spot this season. While every season is a long one and no team is crowned champion after the few weeks of action, NFL fans never know what teams will live up to their expectations, who will fall short and who will surprise.

The Seahawks looked like a machine last season, however history has shown us that repeating in the NFL over the last decade is a very hard thing to do. In the last 30 years, only four teams have puled off back-to-back Super Bowl titles. Those four teams were the 49ers (1989-90), Cowboys (1993-94), Broncos (1998-99) and the Patriots (2004-05).

Here is a look at my preseason power rankings. These rankings are solely based off of last year’s performances and how I believe every team did in the NFL draft.
