The 2013 NFL season schedule kicks-off tonight as the long road to Super Bowl XLVIII begins. Which teams will end up in New Jersey to battle it out in the first ever outdoors "cold" Super Bowl on Feb. 2, 2014?
According to a CBS Sports report on Sept. 3 the favorites to do so are the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers out of the NFC, while the Patriots and Broncos are the oddsmakers choice from the AFC. However if history has taught us anything when it comes to sports, things usually don't work that way!
Just flash back to the improbable Ravens run last season.
Just because you are the "sexy" or "hot pick" at the beginning of the season doesn't mean you will be there in the end. So what will happen in 2013? Many questions fans are already thinking could be...
• Is Colin Kaepernick really that good?
• Are the Seahawks finally ready to win a Super Bowl?
• Can the Steelers bounce back in 2013?
• Are the Packers on the decline?
Those four questions, along with hundreds of others will be answered as the season plays out.
Nevertheless here is a look at how I see the Week 1 NFL power rankings stacking up. It's hard to get a read in Week 1 since all you have to go by is last year's finish and this year's preseason, but for better or worse, here they are.
22. Tampa Bay
30. NY Jets
