The Atlanta Falcons hosted and luckily defeated the Seattle Seahawks thanks to a last ditch field goal in the early AFC Divisional Playoff game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday Jan. 13, 2013. It was believed that the Seahawks could have a good chance of upsetting the Falcons and rookie quarterback Russell Wilson nearly got the best of Matt Ryan’s team.
A determined young gun Wilson delivered a performance just short of a masterful comeback for his teammates passing for 385 yards, two touchdowns while rushing 60 yards and a third touchdown according to the ESPN recap of the game.
Matt Ryan was less impressive despite his team being victorious with 250 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions, one of which that came in the fourth quarter and nearly cost his team the game.
The reality of the night will be looked back on as the Falcons were the team that in truth were lucky to win and were fought till the last seconds before securing a trip to tje AFC Championship title game, where they will face off against the surging San Francisco 49ers’ for a chance to head to the Mercedes Super Dome on February 18, 2013.
