The NFL playoffs 2013 schedule has two games on Saturday's slate, both of which will be nationally televised by NBC and available on the internet. The later of the two contest will be an NFC wild card game with the Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packings live streaming online in addition to televised coverage. The game will also be an intriguing rematch from just last weekend.
Today's NFL playoff live stream game is featured on the SNF All Access website, along with NBC for television coverage. According to a report on Jan. 4 from the NY Daily News, the Packers will have a tough goal in mind: stop Minnesota's running back, Adrian Peterson. During the two teams' first meeting, Peterson went off for 210 yards in a losing effort. However, last weekend the Vikings needed a win to make the playoffs and Peterson delivered in Minnesota. He went for 199 yards and nearly broke an NFL regular season rushing record held by the legendary Eric Dickerson.
Packers linebacker Clay Matthews has commented on those efforts by Peterson and doesn't want to see a repeat in Green Bay on Saturday night. Matthews said:
"We aren’t giving up 200 again. We want to take him out of the mix. That’s definitely the game plan. If we can limit those carries and force (QB Christian) Ponder to beat us, then that’s the game plan we’re going to play. We need to do a better job of stopping the run, and we will do that. And that will help us get after the quarterback."
Of course, Adrian Peterson has a different take on things, where he will continue to run rampant at Lambeau, en route to a huge Vikings playoff win. He said of his goal for this wild card game:
"Whatever it takes to get the 'W.' That’s the same approach I had this previous week: not worried about the record. Just making sure I do my job, do my part as far as protection-wise and grinding the football. . . . If it’s 200 yards, 300, 150 — as long as we come out with a 'W,' I’ll be satisfied."
While there may not be any major records on the line this weekend, it should be a fierce and entertaining battle in Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers will look to play the role of superstar quarterback once again, in a quest to get his team back towards a Super Bowl appearance. Adrian Peterson has enjoyed an MVP quality season, and wants to continue the momentum, both on the field, and deep into the playoffs.
Saturdays NFC wild card game featuring the Vikings vs. Packers has a start time of 8 p.m. EST on NBC affiliate station WSLS 10 in Roanoke. The game can also be viewed via a live stream feed presented online at SNF All Access website.
