NFL playoff predictions for 2014 are in from ESPN experts for the divisional round. These 2014 NFL playoff predictions cover the four games that take place on the second weekend of the postseason (Jan. 11-12). A report from ESPN on Thursday (Jan. 9) reveals the picks of 11 football analysts weighing in with their new projections.
It's worth pointing out that only one of the analysts predicted all the wild card weekend games correctly. Seth Wickersham of ESPN Magazine correctly selected the four teams that would advance, giving him a perfect record this postseason. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Keyshawn Johnson didn't pick a single game correctly. This weekend, Wichersham has the Seattle Seahawks, Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers, and Denver Broncos winning. Johnson has the Seahawks, New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, and Broncos.
None of the games received unanimous favor in these 2014 NFL playoff predictions. One of the closest one was the Broncos vs. San Diego Chargers game, where only one analyst (Mike Ditka) went with the Chargers. The other close one was the 49ers vs. Panthers game, as Johnson was the only analyst who feels that Cam Newton can get his team to the NFC championship game. Two analysts picked the New Orleans Saints over the Seahawks and three analysts went with the Colts over the Patriots.
As for the picks from the fans, SportsNation went 2-2 on wild card weekend and has now picked the Seahawks, Patriots, 49ers, and Broncos to advance to their respective championship games.
