NFL’s most disliked player is Michael Vick, even though he’s played well and has stayed out of trouble since his affiliation with a dog fighting ring sent him to prison. The Most-Disliked NFL Players Poll was conducted by E-Poll Market Research, according to Forbes on Oct. 21.
The E-Score survey included 1,100 people age 13 and older. Only current NFL players were counted in this poll. A whopping 53% of the people taking this poll put Vick at the top of the list. This could be because the crime of animal cruelty registers pretty high on the severity scale for many people.
Having the mentality for hurting defenseless creatures is not something many folks feel you can be rehabilitated from. Hurting animals is considered an indication of a flaw in someone’s personality. Many serial killers hurt animals before graduating to humans.
This is not the type of crime, like a DUI, a fight or even a robbery that might go away after a while in the minds of fans. Hurting defenseless animals apparently says something to many about what kind of guy they perceive Vick to be.
Michael Vick: Most disliked with a 53% dislike score.
Manti Te'o: A close second to Vick in this poll is San Diego Chargers linebacker Manti Te’o who scored a 48% dislike to Vick’s 53%. Do you remember the fake girlfriend episode with Te’o last year? It seems that fans may have not forgotten this.
Tom Brady: The darling of the New England Patriots. He is thought to be very likeable, but he scored 25% dislike score.
Detroit lineman Ndamukong Suh: He got a 43% dislike score, but he is known for his tough exterior and “the occasional cheap shot,” according Forbes.
Now for the some of the NFL players on the “most-liked” list, this would be: Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers. This shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, but you would think that Brady would be on this list instead of the dislike list.
