All eyes were on Manti Te’o at yesterday’s 2013 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. Te’o ran a 4.82 in the 40 yard dash and measured in at 6-feet-1¼ inches and 241 pounds. Many think this combined with the strange ‘fake girlfriend’ story from earlier this year will hurt Te’o’s draft status. ESPN has a story up regarding Te’o’s marks from yesterday. Here is part of the piece:
After facing a media onslaught Saturday, Te'o faced the people who mattered most Monday -- NFL general managers, coaches and scouts. He'll likely be subject to further scrutiny after his disappointing results in the 40.
While every player's athleticism comes under scrutiny at the combine, Te'o drew the most attention. GMs and coaches wanted to see how Te'o would perform not only after his poor showing in the Discover BCS National Championship against Alabama, but also after the revelation in January that he was the focus of an elaborate hoax involving a fake girlfriend.

ESPN.com is reporting that University of Michigan alum and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has agreed to a three-year, $27 million contract extension with the Pats. The deal would keep Brady in New England through the 2017 season. ESPN has a story up, here is part of that piece:
The Patriots gained $8 million in salary-cap space this year and $7 million in cap room next season. Brady's cap numbers, which were scheduled to be $21.8 million in each of the next two offseasons, now will be $14.8 million this season and $13.8 million next season.
Brady and the Patriots started discussing the extension about a month ago, according to a league source. Brady was willing to accept this deal, the source said, because of the trust that exists between the two-time Super Bowl MVP and the team.
