NFL inspired Cardio workout

The NFL playoffs are coming to a head this weekend with divisional championships to be decided between the four remaining teams. It's no question, regardless of who you are cheering for this weekend, that NFL athletes are some of the strongest and most talented athletes around. It's also no question that they undergo some of the most intensive physical training week in and week out in the sports world. So, think you can train like an NFL player? Try this NFL inspired cardio workout and see for yourself.

1.)Squat Jumps. Keep your knees at a 90 degree angle and don't let your knee go over your toe. Land softly on the balls of your feet. 15 reps and then follow it with a 400m sprint

2.)Split Squat Jumps (left leg forward) Engage your core to keep yourself steady. 10 reps followed by a 400m sprint

3.)Spilt Squat Jumps (Right leg forward) Engage your core to keep yourself steady. 10 reps followed by a 400m sprint

4.)Single Leg hop 5 jumps followed by a 400m sprint. Repeat on the other leg

5.)Power Jacks. Similar to a squat jump, except you will be doing a jumping jack. Keep your knees at a 90 degree angle and don't let your knee go over your toe. Land softly on the balls of your feet. 15 reps followed by a 200m sprint

6.)400m sprint

7.)50m high knees

8.)Burpess. Do these until failure.

A few tips:

1.)Stay hydrated. Drink water atleast every 15 minutes during your workout

2.)Rest when needed and stop if you become dizzy

3.)Use a heart rate monitor to make sure you are working out in a safe zone

4.)Check with a doctor or medical professional before beginning any workout program
