Week seven of the 2013 NFL season brought about some unexpected results and a great number of injuries as well. Two of the biggest that are being talked about from the action of Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, are that of Bears' quarterback Jay Cutler and Buccaneers' running back Doug Martin.
Yahoo Sports did confirm that Jay Cutler was forced to leave Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins due to an injury. It happened in the second quarter after Cutler was slammed to the ground by Redskins' Chris Baker.
Cutler stayed down for a few minutes and was treated by the medical staff of the Chicago Bears before heading to the sideline.
It was later determined that Cutler has a groin injury. He is set to undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury as there is not a lot known at this time.
The other much-discussed injury from Sunday is that of Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin. ESPN confirmed that Martin suffered a shoulder injury in the team's loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
The back said after the game that the X-rays "look fine" and that there is no shoulder separation. There is still an evaluation period to go through to determine how serious it actually is.
Other injuries from Sunday include:
- Houston Texans - Brian Cushing (knee) and Arian Foster (ankle) - It has already been determined that Cushing is lost for the year.
- Philadelphia Eagles - Nick Foles (head)
- Green Bay Packers - Jermichael Finley (neck)
