The 2014 NFL Free Agency period began yesterday and many teams made moves by signing free agents and/or releasing some big names.

The Chicago Bears cut ties with DE Juilis Peppers while the Dallas Cowboys said good bye to fellow DE DeMarcus Ware and the New Orleans Saints signed S Jairus Byrd to a six year, $54 million contract.

Other notable moves from day one include the Denver Broncos signing CB Aqib Talib to a six year, $57 million deal and the Indianapolis Colts resigning CB Vontae Davis for four years at $39 million. The San Francisco 49ers made headlines when they traded a conditional draft pick to the Miami Dolphins for estranged OT Jonathan Martin,

Here in Detroit, the Lions made a few moves as they re-signed tailback Joique Bell to a three year, $9.3 million deal.
