NFL Draft 101: Who are the top ten 2010 NFL Draft OT prospects?

It seems clear that Russell Okung is a half step ahead of the field. He is very good, and could play left or right tackle for a NFL team with either need. Behind him we have four Tackles that could really be put in any order. This is a pretty deep class of OT prospects, and some value will be found in later rounds. With that being said here are my top ten list of OT prospects for the 2010 draft.

1. Russell Okung, Oklahoma State- He is essentially the prototypical OT prospect. He is strong enough to knock a lot of D lineman on their butts, and is probably the best run blocker of the bunch. He works hard, and shows great effort.

2. Bryan Bulaga, Iowa- He may be hurt by having a thyroid problem at Iowa last year, but this is a great kid who will have a big impact on a NFL team in 2010. He is excellent in both the run and pass games.

3. Trent Williams, Oklahoma- Lots has been said about him already, but he works hard in games and in practice, and plays through minor injuries. He will not survive the first round.

4. Bruce Campbell, Maryland- He has a few issues that make him a risky pick, but after a strong showing at the NFL Combine all the teams with needs at OT will not be able to pass on him in Round One.

5. Anthony Davis, Rutgers- Some have him a little higher, but his stick has fallen a bit since an unimpressive workout at the Combine. He looks to have fallen out of the top ten in round one, but will be selected in the first round.

6. Charles Brown, USC- If he had more experience he may have been a first round pick, but with good size and athleticism he does not escape round #2

7. Vladimir Ducasse, Massachusetts- He has a raw technique and he did not play high school football. However With good size and mobility some NFL team will take a chance on him in the second round.

8. Jason Fox, Miami- He missed the final two games of his college career with a knee injury, so he must prove his durability. However he has good size and was very consistent at Miami.

9. Jared Veldheer, Hillsdale- He may be unpolished, but he does not shy away from hits. He has good size, strength, durability, and most importantly a love for playing football.

10. Selvish Capers, West Virginia- He may be more of a guard than a tackle, but he could be a very good tackle if he improves his footwork. A converted TE he has a tenacious in run blocking. If a team thinks he fits a specific position, he goes in round three, if not he will be selected in the next two rounds.
