It is hard to account for trades when doing a mock draft, or writing an article about what a team should do with their first round pick. Given the fact that the New York Jets have traded up n the first round in each of the last three drafts, it seems likely that they will do so again.
The Jets are a team that feel, and internally think of itself as a move or two away from a Super Bowl Championship. That means, they are willing to deal away picks to move up and get the guy they want.
The question then becomes who do they want? It seems to me that CB is the biggest area of concern for this club, and that a trade up into the teens to get a shot at Joe Haden or Kyle Wilson is what this team will do with their first round pick.
Sure they would like Wilson to fall to them at 29, but that does not seem likely. If it is a top tier CB they want they are going to have to trade up to do so.
If they were to stay at 29, I think the most likely pick is DE Carlos Dunlap. The Eagles could use some to pair with Trent Cole, and Rex Ryan is unafraid of taking on guys who have questions about character or work ethic.
Again if they fall in love with a guy, say Brandon Graham or someone else, they will make a deal to get into a spot to select him. That is their draft day MO and I do not see any reason for that to change.
