The Giants could go several ways with the 15th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Depending on how they chose, and rank their current needs we can make three effective arguments about which player they should select.
We could argue that the age of the offensive line is the biggest concern, and that the Giants should take G Mike Iupati from Idaho wit the 15th overall pick. Adding him to a line that should feature 2009 second round pick William Beatty at one of the tackle spots would be a solid move by the Giants.
Since some will say their lack of a 1,000 yard rushing RB is 2009 was their biggest weakness adding a young guard could help open lanes for the Giants running attack. Of course they could also decide to add a big time RB prospect with this pick, but I don’t see a RB that fits their game worthy of this pick.
Now the Giants have taken a LB in four of the last six drafts, but none of them are making significant contributions to the team. This team gave up 427 points and over 5,000 yards of total offense, so they could use some defensive playmakers to plug up the middle of the defense.
If that is the plan then two players jump out at us. ILB Rolando McClain from Alabama, or DT Dan Williams from Tennessee. Williams might not be there as two teams with 3-4 defenses in need of a NT will pick before the Giants, but McClain may be there for the picking.
The Giants could also use some depth in the defensive secondary, but the singing of Antrel Rolle seems to indicate that they can wait till later rounds to address that need.
