It always surprises me how fast Championship caliber sports teams can fall apart. It wasn’t that long ago that the Cardinals were in the Super Bowl, now the feel like thy have slipped back to the mediocrity that has plagued this team throughout its long history.
There are needs all over the place, that may need another young QB, or they may need to give Matt Leinart a to of confidence by sticking with him until they can no longer afford to. Since they have been unwilling to do that in the past, they may trade for a QB to serve as their backup plan or draft one in the 2010 draft. As of right now the QB position is a concern not exactly a need.
I see big holes in the Cardinals Line backing corps. I am not sold on Joey Porter or Paris Lenon, their two free agent acquisitions, and believe they need the big inside presence to replace Karlos Dansby.
This team also has a problem with their edge pass rush. They could very well use a DE or OLB who knows how to get pressure on opposing QB’s.
They also seem to be in need of a tackle, since it looks like Mike Gandy has played his lat downs with the team. They do have Levi Brown and Jeremy Bridges to step in but, neither has impressed anyone. They may need to add a Tackle via the draft.
This team also lost Antrel Rolle in free agency, so we have to count Safety among their primary needs. On top of that Adrian Wilson is now thirty years old, and Rashad Johnson had several miscues replacing the injured Matt Ware in the Dime role.
Since they traded Anquan Boldin WR tops their list of secondary needs. They could use a young face to come in and battle for their third or forth wide out spots.
The last need, we should address here is at CB. The Cardinals got picked apart on the corners in the playoffs. Look for this team to use a mid round pick to get an upgrade here.
