Although he led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl title last season, Wilson doesn’t have those sexy numbers many fans clamor for. Wilson threw for 3,357 yard last season and 26 touchdowns last season, numbers that are more than respectable, but pale in comparison to the quarterbacks he shares the top five position with like Drew Brees, who makes 4,000 yards and 30 TD passes look like child’s play.
But apparently, those numbers don’t mean as much as the other intangibles Wilson brings to the field. Like the development team at EA Sports did last week when they explained Wilson’s score, Schwartz did the same thing when making the case for Wilson’s 93 overall rating.
“Russell Wilson's rating is perfect at 93 OVR,” Schwartz said on NFL.com. “An 86 speed (fair enough), 90 agility (more or less right), 93 throw power (he does have that baseball throwing cannon of an arm), and the two most accurate stats: his 92 acceleration (too many times we have seen this guy elude defenders with his quick burst abilities) and his 89 "on the run accuracy" (typically Wilson pirouettes away from the rush and launches the ball to a receiver).”
“Madden 15” is set for an August 26 release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One home gaming consoles.
Do you agree with the EA Sports ratings? Does Wilson deserve his overall rating? Do you think should have been on the top-five Quarterback list instead? Sound off in the comment section below.
