Black Monday 2013 has begun. Unlike Black Friday, Black Monday isn't about great deals, it's about NFL coaches getting pink slips and the firing has begun.
According to NFL.com on Dec. 30 the Vikings have parted ways with head coach Leslie Frazier. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Frazier was fired Monday, according to the team. The Vikings finished 4-3-1 in their final eight games, but it wasn't enough to save Frazier's job.
Monday morning also brought the end to Mike Shanahan's career in Washington.
After being last year's surprise team, the Skins came into 2013 with high expectations and fell well short of their goal.
The Cleveland Browns didn't even wait for Black Monday as they announced late last night that they are parting ways with head coach Rob Chudzinski.
According to a USA Today report on Dec. 29, the Browns decided one year was enough for Rob Chudzinski, which actually caught many people by surprise.
"We appreciate Chud's passion for the Browns, and we have great respect for him both personally and professionally," read a statement issued by the Browns. "We needed to see progress with this football team. We needed to see development and improvement as the season evolved and, unfortunately, we took a concerning step backward in the second half of the year."
Lions fans are waiting to see if Jim Schwartz will get his walking papers today.
Like Shanahan, Schwartz is expected to get his walking papers according to reports.
