More preseason NFL picks Seahawks-Broncos, Bengals-Chiefs, and the Patriots-Redskins. Linemakers have the following news and notes:
Denver Broncos backup QB Brock Osweiler will get extended playing time, very possibly with the first unit, after Peyton Manning makes a cameo appearance. Denver will be minus top RB Montee Ball. Ronnie Hillman has been impressive in camp after being demoted last year, He and C.J. Anderson will see increased playing time.
The addition of Paul Richardson and Kevin Norwood makes Seattle very deep at WR. Seattle’s bulk of playing time at QB will go to journeyman Tavaris Jackson, Terrelle Pryor, and B.J. Daniels.
Hawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed that the starters will not play much but did say he did have a specific plan, but not a regular season game plan situation.
Best bet in sports says KC will play each of their four QBs one quarter. Starter Alex Smith will be followed by Chase Daniel, Tyler Bray and rookie Aaron Murray. Smith confirmed the expected: there is no game planning for the contest.
“Intangibles” handicappers believe Alex Smith will have a chip on his shoulder to show he deserves as much as Cincinnati QB Andy Dalton got in his new contract. KC very deep at RB as they will likely cut one or two who will wind up on a roster elsewhere according to experts trusted by OffshoreInsiders.com. Resting his shoulder, Bengals rookie QB AJ McCarron won’t play at all. Only Andy Dalton, Jason Campbell and Matt Scott will take game reps.
Dalton is only expected to see one or two series. This is the same with the other starters such as A.J. Green, Giovani Bernard and Vontaze Burfict. RB veteran BenJarvus Green-Ellis may get extended playing time though.
Expect the Bengals to engage in a no-huddle and in general play at a faster pace on offense than last year.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is likely to be rested, sources tell OffshoreInsiders.com. Bill Belichick has accumulated straight up record of 42-35 (.545) in NFLX including a 31-26 (.544) mark as Patriots head coach. His teams have been .500 or above in 16 of his 19 previous preseasons as a head coach in the NFL. Star TE Rob Gronkowski is out for Pats.
The two teams scrimmaged together and all accounts are that New England dominated on both sides of the ball. Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III looked indecisive and very inaccurate, often panicked. Star WR DeSean Jackson doubtful for Skins. Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon (hamstring) is also not expected to play in the preseason matchup. Gruden also added that safeties Phillip Thomas and Ryan Clark will both be out of Thursday’s game for the Skins.
Backup quarterback Ryan Mallett will start and play extensively. Mallet could start for at least half the teams in the NFL say many scouts.
Led by Texas +210, Joe Duffy’s Picks has had three straight winning days. Now it is four in a row led by three NFL winners for Thursday. You certainly want to get at least the three-day pick pack for the first full week of NFL preseason action. The Golden Rule of Handicapping is that oddsmakers despise uncertainly and so do squares. Sharps like Joe Duffy isolate the conclusiveness from the unknown and destroy the bookmakers unmercifully in betting NFLX. Joe Duffy has been doing this in the NFL preseason since 1988 publically. He always reveals why he is betting a side and unleashes the intel that pro gamblers know and you should too.
