Monday night football is a staple and the match up between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins figures to be a good one...Chip Kelly is the new kid in town in Philly heading up the Eagles after a four-year run as coach of the Oregon Ducks of 46-7. So he knows how to run offenses and he has Michael Vick.
Monday Night Football 2013 season opener
The Redskins have that other quarterback named RGIII or Robert Griffin III. He is like a younger version and slightly bigger version of Vick: he took the 'Skins to the playoffs in his rookie year in 2012-13 but he had that ACL injury late last year followed by an operation and rehabilitation. How mobile will he be with a knee brace and will he still be fearless and take off on jaunts into opposing defenses? Do you think he'll be convinced to wear a knee brace? I think he still will run but maybe with more care toward self-preservation.
RGIII is the unknown factor since he didn't throw any passes in the preseason games in August.
The game is a home game for the 'Skins at FedEx Field and that might be the deciding factor in this divisional rivalry. I anticipate a close game, decided by a field goal: let's say 27-24 and the Redskins win on a late touchdown with less than three minutes on the clock.
Let's crank up that rock n roll music by 'Queen' and turn down that Mike Tirico BLITHERING noise: IT'S MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!
