Winter Park Resort announced today that its snowpack is finally dwindling and will open for summer operations this Saturday, June 14. The weekend opening includes the opening of Trestle Bike Park and base activities such as the Alpine Slide (Colorado’s longest, according to Winter Park) and the annual Winter Park Chocolate Festival.

Trestle Bike Park will open for the 2014 summer season with terrain for riders of all ages and abilities. Winter Park is offering a brand-new Adventure Plus pass that includes a Trestle 101 lesson, bike rental from its large fleet (the largest in the U.S., according to Winter Park), lift ticket, and a choice of three other activities, including the Alpine Slide, for $139. Trestle Bike Park Season Passes, Adventure Season Passes, and the Coca-Cola 4-Pack are also all on sale now.

In addition to Trestle, the Winter Park base will host a full slate of family-friendly activities, including the Alpine Slide, Leaps & Bounds Bungee, the human maze, GyroXtreme, Bouncy Snow Cat, climbing wall, mini-golf, and scenic chairlift rides on the Zephyr Express.

The Village at Winter Park will also be quite chocolaty with the annual Chocolate Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring fine chocolates from over 20 confectioners, contests for the kids, and live music.
