Like most media- and tech-related fields, documentary filmmakers face the obstacle of constant evolution across the board. From funding to distribution, and everything in between, documentaries face as much fluctuation in practical methods as blockbuster features and smaller fictional projects.
To help local professionals and students meet the wave of changes without fear, the Denver Documentary Summit hosts its annual event next Thursday and Friday, May 29-30. The two-day summit invites filmmakers of all skill levels to participate in a variety of panels and networking opportunities.
A complete schedule and list of this year's speakers can be found on the DDS's website. Ticket prices are listed at $200 for the full summit, and at $140 each for either Thursday or Friday. However, members of the Colorado Film and Video Association should note that an additional 25% discount is available by e-mailing the organization's contact.
