The State’s biggest volunteer event is Saturday, Sept. 21 for the Coastal Cleanup Day. Several events are being held all along the California coast. In Long Beach the Aquarium of the Pacific is holding its event at Alamitos Beach. Check in is at Alamitos Beach located at Ocean Blvd. and Shoreline Dr. Volunteers should check in at the Aquarium’s booth to receive their cleaning supplies. There is no cost to attend and no RSVP is required.

Heal the Bay, based in Santa Monica is holding more than two dozen clean up events from San Pedro to Malibu also from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. According to the organization, more than 62,600 volunteers in California participated in Coastal Cleanup Day. Participants can also create a fundraising event for Coastal Cleanup Day. Click here to find a site near you. Volunteers can sign up online with Heal the Bay. Volunteers will receive news about their participation in Saturday’s event via email.
