The four remaining contestants had to frost a cake blindfolded on the Next Great Baker episode that originally aired February 4, 2013. When they took their blindfolds off, Ashley's cake looked the best. She won a $3,000 Bakery Crafts gift card.
For the elimination challenge, the contestants had seven hours to make a cake to honor their mothers. Gretle-Ann and Ashley worked together on one cake, and Paul and Jen worked together on another cake. Their own mothers helped them for two hours.
Buddy Valastro's mother and wife judged the cakes. They thought Gretle-Ann and Ashley's cake was messy and they didn't like the colors on Paul and Jen's cake. Buddy decided to eliminate Paul. Ashley, Jen, and Gretle-Ann will travel to Las Vegas for the finals.
