Neumann-Goretti High School’s Ja’Quan Newton has done something that no other player has done.
There have been players that have scored 1,000 points in their basketball career at the school. Yet, he is the fastest player to reach the milestone in school history.
He surpassed 1,000 points in his career when the Saints were able to beat West Catholic High School, 77-51, on Friday night. He made a jumper to surpass the plateau in the third quarter.
He came into the game knowing that he needed 10 points to reach the milestone in his high school career. At the end of the game, he ended up with 1,001 points, as he scored 11 points in the game.
