With the ever increasing technology of news on the internet, the local newspaper industry is seeing a decline in subscriptions. True, there’s nothing better than folding a paper and enjoying a “cup-o-joe” on the way to work (while riding a train, plane, bus or tram), but there is much more to this newspaper ad then just news.

Take a look at the video below from Maxwell House and see other aspects of a social interaction between a father & his son. This piece would have been great for Father’s Day, yet we can learn from this type of synergy any time.

Parents (yes, Moms and Dads) can show their child that they love them even when they are teaching the child independence and responsibility (having a newspaper route). There is time to think of our children even when we don’t have the time to spare. Usually our children desire to be with us (they may not tell you now, but they’ll confess it to you later). They want you to ask them questions like: “What was the most interesting event in your day?” They may even want to hear something about your childhood or how you handled a particular situation.

So let’s take some time soon and get to know our children while they get to know a little more about us. OBTW, a great start would be bringing your child to church and a great place in Jacksonville, Florida would be Faith Christian Center. It’s a place that lets you know that ‘You were born to WIN’. Now go ahead – Make their day!!!

Our children grow up too fast. I agree. It's just as important for parents to get to know their children as it is for children to get to know their parents.

It is important for parents and children to really have time to talk and know one another. Usually it starts so late in life...start sooner...you'll be surprised what you learn along the way.

This is great advice...there is so much that is not heard from parent to child and child to parent. Much suffering occurs because no one talks...don't miss out on the good stuff...start today!
