Local news personalitites cut loose at Newsapalooza
Congratulations to WLS-AM talk host Roe Conn on the success of Newsapalooza 2 this past Saturday at the Park West Theater. The sold-out concert featured a number of local newscasters getting up on stage to show off their singing talents. Proceeds from the unique event benefit the Cystic Fibrosis foundation.

Co-hosted by singer and song writer Richard Marx, the event featured some memorable performances including NBC 5’s Marion Brooks, Ginger Zee & Natalie Martinez joining WLS-AM’s own Amy Jacobsen for a rendition of Beyonce’s recent hit “Single Ladies,” and CBS 2’s Rob Johnson cutting loose on the Van Halen version of the Kinks classic “You Really Got Me.” The Sun-Times was represented by critic Richard Roeper who was backed on a performance of Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” by Lauren Jiggets, Dina Blair and NBC 5’s Anna Davlantes.

Performance pictures and candid shots from the after party at the Hard Rock Hotel are available at the WLS-AM Web site.
