News you can use with Planet Ant’s ‘Action Sports News’

Good news. Planet Ant is back with another original comedy, this one celebrating the trials and tribulations of a small town news anchor trying to break the small-market blues.

“Action Sports News” follows Gloria Day, a woman with dreams of something better than anchoring for a news station that only broadcasts “Good News.” In the mean time she'll have to contend with a nervous ex-olympian, an amateur weather girl and an overly nostalgic boss.

Written and directed by Dyan Bailey and Mike McGettigan, this is an original comedy in the classic Planet Ant style. Will Gloria achieve her dreams of making the big time? Will she decide she’s better off where she is?

You can find out this weekend at Planet Ant. “Action Sports News” opens March 8 and runs through March 30. Shows are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on the Sunday afternoons of March 17 and 24. There will also be a half-price 8 p.m. performance on Tuesday, March 26th.
