Mobiles Republic, developer of several highly rated apps for both the iOS and Android platforms, has released the 3.0 version of their "News Republic" app for Android tablets and smartphones. The update, which hit the Google Play store on Wednesday evening, includes a vibrant new design which allows for even more customization of how topics are arranged on your home page. Since you can now re-size and slide around news categories at will, you can emphasize the visual impact of the topics that matter most to you. It also features a sort of live tile system on the home screen where the stories and their corresponding pictures constantly update as you use the app.
"News Republic" is free to install, and it gives you access to over 10,000 full-length articles from top news sources, which you then can share via Twitter or Facebook. You can also show your feelings regarding a particular story using the “Mood” feature. While the 3.0 version is advertised as optimized for tablets, most of the new features are incorporated in the new smartphone update as well, albeit on a smaller scale.
